My cows are a beloved passion - always have been, every since I can remember. Any instance I recall usually involves a cow somewhere in the tale. Firstly they were Dad’s dairy cows, which I called mine; well - we shared. My husband Royston and I started a beef herd in 1995. I still call them mine. Times for the farmer have been very hard these past ten years or so. Last year I wrote a book - “Cows Can Talk” - telling of my understanding of cows and their lives and their talk. Having spent so many hours every single day with my cows, I began to see a distinct resemblance between the behavioural patterns in cows and humans. So now I have teamed up with a teacher from Glastonbury called Jan Stone, who has turned my stories into workshops, we go into schools to help the children deal with the everyday problems they face in a one step removed way – by talking about the cows and how they face and deal with the many issues that have a knock-on effect in this very fast and modern life we lead.
